Hike to Glacier Vista and West Lake on Friday, October 25, 2013

On Friday, October 25, Me, Bronka , Wally  and my doggie, Buster, went on a hike to Glacier Vista.  This was the first time I had ever hiked there and it is one of the most beautiful hikes I have been on. There was an amazing view of Mt. Rainier.    Bronka, Wally and I had lunch there.     Then we hiked down to West Lake which was another mile from Glacier Vista.    It was an amazing, beautiful day with great friends.

Trip to Poulsbo, on Thursday, October 17, 2013

On Thursday, October 17, 2013, Bronka and I took a trip to Poulsbo.  Our first stop was at Silverdale as we visited the Children of the Nations .  We had some clothing to contribute, which they happily accepted.   Children of the Nations builds orphanages and schools in Africa, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  Chris and his wife, Debbie, are wonderful  people who give so much of their time and talents to helping these children.   They were so kind to Bronka and gave us a tour of their facilities. 

Then we drove to Poulsbo and went into most of the shops there.   We had so much fun.   We even stopped and had a nice lunch.  Bronka loved the soup she ordered.   We also walked along the harbor.    We had a wonderful day.

Hike at Pack Forest on Sunday, October 13, 2013

Bronka was joined by Wally, Daryl , Tom, as well as Ted and myself to Pack Forest in Eatonville.   It was a cloudy day, but nice to get out.  We all had a wonderful time.   Pack Forest is a great place to go on a hike when weather is bad in Ashford.  Ted and I go there almost every week with Bronka.

Hike to High Rock on Thursday, October 3, 2013

On Thursday, October 3, 2013, Bronka and I decided to take a hike up to High Rock.   It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to take advantage of it.   My doggie, Buster, joined us.

It was an amazing day!  We eventually got into some snow and became a bit slippery, but made it okay to the Lookout.  As Bronka and I were having lunch, a group of people showed up.    Apparently, they were a group from the YMCA who get together and  go on hikes.   They were a really nice group of people.   They fell in love with Bronka and had a nice chat with her.   They thought she was an amazing person.  They truly made our day!

Hike to Faraway Rock via Manzama Ridge - September 2, 2013

On Monday, September 2, 2013, our Monday group hiked to Faraway Rock via Manzama Ridge.  What an awesome day!  The wildflowers were out and so were the blueberries!  The views were amazing.

Hike to Summit Lake on Saturday, August 31, 2013

 

On Saturday, August 31, 2013,  Bronka joined  Ted, me (Rose), Kelly, and Claire on a hike to Summit Lake, which is where Ted and I were married 23 years ago.   

 

Bronka always amazes me as we had to climb a high hill to get above Summit Lake, and she had no problem.   

 

It was an amazing day, with great friends on a beautiful hike!

Bronka's Birthday August 15, 2013

On August 15, 2013, Bronka turned 88 years young!  Ted and I stopped by and brought her a birthday cake.   She does not like to be fussed over, but she enjoyed the cake and gifts very much.   I have learned to get her, practical things, things she can use.   We bought her a laundry basket, a dish drainer, scented Epson salts, and other little things that I know she could use.  She loved it!

Naches Loop Hike - August 3, 2013

On Saturday, August 3, 2013, Bronka joined the Light Boot Hikers on a hike on the Naches Loop Trail.   It was a beautiful sunny day, although a little cloudy.  We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the beautiful wildflowers, scenery and our group.
