Snowshoe Hike to Panorama Point - 3/8/13

Bronka, Ted and Liz snowshoed up to Panorama Point.   It was a beautiful sunny day!  Looks like they had a great time despite having to go up the steep hill!

Bronka leading the way up that really steep hill.

Beautiful, but very steep coming up.

Liz and Bronka taking in all of the beautiful scenery.

 Lunch break at Panorama Point.

Wow, time to go down that steep hill to Panorama Point.

Snowshoe Hike to Reflection Lakes - 3/1/13

Although cloudy, decided to get out and go for a snowshoe hike to Reflection Lakes starting from Narada Falls.   Liz, Bronka and I had a fun day enjoying the beautiful scenery around us.  What was really interesting is that Liz spotted an Ermine and pointed it out as it scampered across the snow.  It looks like a squirrel, but is all white and had a black tip on its tail.  We had never seen one before.

Walk on the Levy - 2/20/13

My granddaughters, Theresa and Kassie spent winter break at our home.   Although cold and snowy, we decided to get out and get some fresh air.   Bronka joined us on the walk on the levy next her home.  It was a great walk.  Very beautiful with the snow falling down.

Snowshoe Hike to Reflection Lakes from Narada Falls - 2/8/13

The Light Boot Hikers group that Ted and I lead, came together with the Lacy Wanderers on a snowshoe hike to Reflection Lakes.   We had a wonderful day with a wonderful group of people.

Getting snowshoes on, sometimes can be a struggle.

Cross County Skiing at Barn Flats - 2/7/13

Looked like a great day to do some cross-country skiing, so Bronka and I decided to take advantage of the day and try out our skis.   Decided to go to Barn Flats just below Paradise at Mt. Rainier.   It was great!   Bronka and I were the only ones at Barn Flats.   It had been awhile since we had been on skis, but we did great!

Beautiful scenery at Barn Flats.   View of Pinnacle Peak and Plummer Peak

Bronka had me pose and took a picture.

Yay!  Bronka, skiing down the hill!

Stopped and had lunch and a camp robber took a piece of Bronka's sandwich

Time to go home, there goes Bronka!  Had a fun day and Barn Flats all to ourselves!

Snowshoe Hike with the Monday Group - 2/4/13

Monday Group Ladies, Carol W., Elaine, Bronka and Liz
Cloudy, but very nice day!

 Liz, Carol, Bronka and Elaine

There was a group of climbers going up the hill to camp out for a few days.  Although the day was beautiful, the next few days were not.  On Friday, Ted and I came up this way toward Pebble Creek and this same group was coming back.   I asked them if they had started on Monday, and they said yes.  I told them I was thinking about them on Tuesday and Wednesday when the weather was really bad.  I told one of their leaders, that Bronka and I had seen them go up.  And one of the guys there recognized Bronka's name.  He was disappointed he did not see her on Monday.   I told him we were having lunch as we watched them hike up the hill.

Snowshoe Hike to Edith Basin Loop, Mt. Rainier - 1/31/13

Bronka and I decided to take advantage of the wonderful weather.  Could not let a great day go to waste so we decided to go snowshoeing and so happy we did.  We almost had the mountain all to ourselves, well that side of the mountain, anyway.

 Bronka just getting started.

 Beautiful mountain, beautiful day!
